4-Day Itinerary: Hong Kong-Macau Trip

Day 1:

Arrival at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) early in the morning

Breakfast at the airport

Hotel Check in (The Empire Hotel Hong Kong at Causeway Bay)
How to get there:

    Ride a bus no. E11 and alight at the last stop which is Tin Hau Station. Walked about three streets and turned right at Wing Hing St.

Lunch near the hotel

Ocean Park, Aberdeen, Hong Kong
How to get there:

    Bus 629 from Central Pier 7 or from MTR Admiralty Station, Exit B and alight at the park.

Fare: Buy an octopus card worth HK$100 plus a HK$50 deposit, which is refundable when you surrender your card. That would be enough for 4 days, you can also refund the remaining balance but with admin fee. Octopus card is accepted all over Hong Kong for transportation and parking, at retail outlets, self-service machines, leisure facilities and schools as well as through online.
Entrance Fee: HK$ 320 for Adult, HK$ 160 for Child aged 3-11 (check here for other rates and offers)
Operating Hours: 10:00am – 7:00pm

The Peak also known as Victoria Peak Hong Kong – Peak Tram, Sky Terrace 428 and Madame Tussauds (house of celebrity wax)
How to get there:

  • Peak Tram from the Peak Tram Lower Terminus on Garden Road (reach it by taking bus 15C from the lay-by outside the Star Ferry pier in Central, or walk from MTR Central Station, Exit J2.)
  • Bus 15 from Exchange Square bus terminus (near MTR Hong Kong Station, Exit D)
  • Minibus 1 from MTR Hong Kong Station public transport interchange.

Ticket Price for Peak Tram (Return) and Sky Terrace 428: HK$ 75 for Adult, HK$ 36 for Child aged 3-11
Ticket Price for Peak Tram (Single) and Sky Terrace 428: HK$ 63  for Adult, HK$ 29 for Child aged 3-11
Ticket Price for Peak Tram only: HK$ 40 for Adult (Return), HK$ 18 for Child (Return), HK$ 28 for Adult (Single), HK$ 11 for Child (Single)
Peak Tram Operating Hours: 7 am to 12 midnight (Mon – Sun & Public Holidays)
Sky Terrace 428 Opening Hours: 10 am to 11 pm (Mon – Fri); 8 am to 11 pm (Sat, Sun & Public Holidays)
Entrance Fee for Madame Tussauds: HK$225 for Adult, HK$155 for Child aged 3-11 and Senior 65 and above (click here for promos)
Madame Tussauds Operating Hours: 10 am to 10 pm daily

Day 2:

Breakfast

Disneyland, Lantau Island, Hong Kong
How to get there:

    Travel on the MTR Tung Chung line to Sunny Bay Station, then onwards to the Disneyland Resort Station

1 Day Ticket Fee: HK $450 General Admission, HK $320 for Child aged 3-11, HK $100 for Senior aged 65 and above
Operating Hours: 9:00am – 8:00pm on Monday to Friday; 9:00am – 5:00pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays (click here to buy ticket online)

Avenue of Stars and Symphony of Lights at Victoria Harbour, Kowloon, Hong Kong
How to get there:

    MTR East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Exit J. Follow the signs to the Avenue of Stars.

Fare: Use your Octopus Card

Ride the Aqua Luna Boat going back to Central Pier, Hong Kong from Kowloon Pier or vice versa
Fare: HK$195 adult, HK$155 child (4-11) except for the sailings marked* (Symphony of Lights Cruise) for which fare is HK$260 for Adult, HK$210 for Child (4-11)
Departure Times: 5-30pm, 6-30pm, *7-30pm, 8-30pm, 9-30pm, 10-30pm

Day 3: Off to Macau

Ferry Terminal at Sheung Wan
How to get there:

    MTR Sheung Wan Station, Exit D

Arrival at Macau Ferry Terminal or Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Pier in Chinese

Wynn – must-see Tree of Prosperity
How to get there:

    Ride a free shuttle bus of Wynn

Fare: Free
*You may opt to take the free shuttle bus straight to Hotel Lisboa

Senado Square and Ruins of St.Paul
How to get there:

    Walk pass Hotel Lisboa and Casino Grand Lisboa, go straight ahead till you reach Senado Square

City of Dreams – The Dragon Treasure Show
How to get there:

    Ride a free shuttle bus located at Avenida De D. Joao IV in front of Hotel Sintra

Fare: Free
Dragon Treasure Show Ticket Price: HK$ 50 / MOP50 for Adult, HK$ 25 / MOP25 for Child aged 3-12, HK$ 30 / MOP 30 for Senior 60 years & above and Macau resident
Show Times: 12:00noon – 8:00pm (Show Duration: 18 minutes)

Venetian Hotel – Shoppes at Grand Canal and Gondola
How to get there:

    Behind City of Dreams, just walking distance

Gondola Ride Fee: HK$ 118 / MOP 118 for Adult, HK$ 88 / MOP 88 for Kids, HK$ 472 / MOP 472 for Private Gondola

Go back to Macau Ferry Terminal or Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Pier and ride Cotai strip Jet or Turbo Jet bound to Ferry Terminal at Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
Ferry Fare: HK$ 185

Day 4:

Lantau Island via Ngong Ping 360 (Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal)
How to get there:

    Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal is adjacent to MTR’s Tung Chung Station. It is a two-minute walk from Exit B of the station.

Fare: Use your octopus card.
Ticket Price for Ngong Ping Cable Car Experience: HK$ 150 Standard Cabin, HK$ 235 Crystal Cabin, and HK$ 210 1+1 Standard & Crystal Round Trip Cable Car. These are rates for Adults only, you may check here for other rates and offers.
Opening Hours: 10 am – 6 pm on Monday to Friday; 9 am – 6:30 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays

Shop at Citygate Outlets – you can also check in your baggage here before going to Lantau Island for a minimum of HK$ 10 small size for 6 hours.

Go to HKIA for our 9 PM flight via bus.
Fare: Since we already surrendered our Octopus Cards we paid about HK$ 3 that time.
