So if you are looking for a cheaper accommodation near Legoland Malaysia, you may want to consider staying here. You can only take a cab/teksi going here and the driver charged us a fixed price of 25 MYR. However, if you are going to Malaysia the next day via bus then, I would suggest to look for accommodation near the terminals.
An overnight stay ranges from 208-258 MYR for off-peak season and 218-278 MYR for peak season like school break and holidays.
One day, we just decided to go to Johor Bahru in Malaysia for an overnight stay. It is my first time to travel to Malaysia from Singapore, but not really my first time to go there. And the memories are still quite painful, why? Read my post Mesmerizing Malaysia.
That time, we were staying around Toa Payoh so we just rode the North-South Line and alight at Woodlands station. We looked for the Bus Interchange just below Woodlands MRT station.
We queued at Bus No. 950.
Last July we decided to have an overnight stay at Johor Bahru in Malaysia. Since we are staying at Singapore now, it only took us less than an hour to get there but an hour to pass through the immigration.
I had a bad experience going to Johor Bahru last time when I went to KLCC with my friend and wasn’t given the chance to explore the city so I thought that this would be it.
I was happy to see restaurants not available in Singapore. LOL. Yeah! Basically we just went “malling” for a while and then decided to spend the whole time at the hotel because I am so tired and wanted to rest.
We stayed at Amansari Hotel City Centre located at Jalan Wong Ah Fook, Bandar Johor Bahru, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. My companion were the ones who looked and booked for our hotel because if I will be doing it, it will take forever. Haha.
And since we’ll be staying for a night only, I promised not to be choosy. 🙂
It is my birth month and I chose to celebrate it out of the country. Together with my travel buddy we conquered Malaysia for two days.
So here’s the plan, we’ll be visiting Legoland, Genting Highlands, and Batu Caves plus the famous Bukit Bintang walk. However, because I was so busy with work I wasn’t able to do an in-depth research about our itinerary especially going to Legoland Malaysia.
That is why our first day was such a waste, I didn’t know that Legoland was so far away from Kuala Lumpur. We traveled almost nine hours from KLCC to Johor Bahru and back. Well, lesson learned! Always always ask how many minutes or hours is the travel time which I failed to ask after buying a bus ticket going to Johor.
For those who would like to know how to get from Kuala Lumpur to Legoland:
- Take the railway going to Bandar Tasik Selatan station and look for TBS or Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, alternatively you can go to Pudu Sentral terminal
- Buy a bus ticket which cost 34.30 MYR
- A 4-5 hours travel time before reaching Larkin Sentral
- At Larkin Sentral you can see shuttle bus of Legoland (Bus # LM1) every thirty minutes between 9:00 am and midday. Return buses will run from Legoland to Larkin from 4:00 pm until 6:30pm from Sunday to Friday. On Saturdays, school holidays and public holidays they will run until 8:30pm. Each round trip will cost RM12
*My two cents: leave early and better if you book for a place to stay overnight because it’s kinda tiring, really.
Indeed, that’s the downside of DIY traveling. I will be posting our 1-day itinerary in Malaysia, which is supposedly a 2-day itinerary but because our first day was an epic fail we squeezed everything for a day and it was a success. Haha.
The Grand Hyatt, just in front of our hotel.
